Santa Clara’s statue honoring the City as the host of Super Bowl 50 is becoming a reality.
On September 2 the Santa Clara Cultural Commission visited Artworks Foundry in Berkeley where the piece will be cast, and saw sculptor Linda Serrao’s work take the first of many steps to becoming a finished bronze piece that will stand on Tasman Boulevard long after Super Bowl 50 is a memory.
The City awarded the sculpture commission to the Bay Area artist in June. Serrao’s design was unanimously chosen by the City’s Cultural Commission because it embodied the concept of Santa Clara as “the Center of What’s Possible.” Serrao’s specialty is bronze work and she has extensive experience with public art commissions.
