Stratford Students Get a Lesson on Generosity, Donate to One Warm Coat

To instill kindness in their students and give them the opportunity to take part in helping those in need, Stratford School in Santa Clara held a coat drive with One Warm Coat.

Stratford Cares, a give-back initiative formed by Stratford School, held the coat drive and collected an impressive 64 gently used coats.

The coats were donated to One Warm Coat, a national nonprofit that works to provide free outwear to those in need. According to their website, coats are distributed in the communities where they were collected, to children and adults in need, without charge, discrimination or obligation.

“As part of Stratford School’s enriched and balanced approach to education, students learn that giving back is a part of being a responsible citizen and a caring community member,” said Pamela Elkhechen, Principal at Stratford School Santa Clara Winchester. “Our students were so excited to bring in coats to donate to One Warm Coat knowing that they were going to help others in need. It is truly an honor to work in such a loving and charitable environment such as Stratford School.”

Stratford School describes itself as the leading independent private school system. Their Santa Clara campus is located at 400 N. Winchester Blvd. To learn more about Stratford or Stratford Cares visit www.stratfordschools.com.
