SAP Open

New Eagles Soar at Boy Scouts of America Recognition Dinner

In an upset, 20-year old Canadian Milos Raonic beat the number 9 player in the world, Fernando Verdasco, during the finals match at the SAP Open, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5). Raonic, who got to the finals when his semi-final opponent Gael Monfils was forced to withdraw due to a wrist injury, dazzled on the court by slamming serves up to 149 miles per hour. The Canadian initially trailed the Spaniard, but fought the uphill battle and proved to be the victor Sunday night at HP Pavilion. Next up for Raonic: a rematch against Verdasco today in the first round of the ATP Memphis Open. Photo by Tony Medina
