The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.
Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Hit and Run – Felony
Location: El Camino Real and San Tomas Expressway
At approximately 0521 hours, a collision occurred in the area of El Camino Real and San Tomas Expressway. The male driver fled the scene on foot.
Officers responded to a hit and run collision with injuries. The suspect was located nearby, and after a short foot pursuit he was taken into custody. The suspect displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. He refused to participate in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. A Preliminary Alcohol Screening Test read 0.272 percent blood alcohol content. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest
Location: Lafayette Street and Laurelwood Road
An officer on foot patrol observed a male subject along the railroad right-of-way adjacent to Lafayette Street, near Laurelwood Road.
Upon contact, the subject falsely identified himself. A Records check revealed he had three outstanding warrants. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Informational Report
Location: 2000 Block of El Camino Real
At approximately 1730 hours, a reporting party was using the restroom facilities in a business on the 2000 block of El Camino Real. An unknown subject in the next stall dropped a cell phone under the divider with adult pornography playing on it. The reporting party exited the restroom and notified a store employee.
At 1845 hours, the reporting party came to the lobby of the police building to report the incident. An informational report was taken.

Bomb Threat
Location: 3900 Block of Freedom Circle
An officer responded to the 3900 block of Freedom Circle on the report of a threat.
Upon arrival, the officer learned an email was sent to the company on 9/3/19 at 2030 hours threatening to bomb the company. The threat was made through a help desk center out of state, by a local disgruntled customer regarding a customer service issue. Through email, the dissatisfied customer apologized for the threat after the customer service issue was resolved.
SCPD notified the police department where the customer resides asking the department to contact the subject.

Strong Arm Robbery
Location: Burdick Lane and Watson Circle
Officers were dispatched to a report of an attempted strong-arm robbery in the area of Burdick Lane and Watson Circle.
While two victims were walking, a male suspect pushed one victim to the ground from behind. The suspect attempted to steal a gold chain necklace without success as the necklace broke during the exchange. When that was not successful, the suspect tried taking a necklace from the second victim.
An unknown male subject driving a delivery truck yelled at the suspect and chased the suspect until he could not be located.
One victim had minor injuries and declined medical attention. Officers arrived on scene and were unable to locate the suspect.

Residential Burglary
Location: 1000 Block of Blackfield Court
A homeowner on the 1000 block of Blackfield Court arrived home and was confronted by a female suspect inside the residence. The homeowner could see drug paraphernalia and burglary tools and left the residence to call Public Safety Dispatchers.
Upon officer arrival, a perimeter was established, and public address announcements were made for the suspect to surrender. As it turns out, there were two suspects inside, one male and one female. The suspects attempted to flee through the back yard and were apprehended.
The suspects gained entry to the residence through an unlocked rear window. While inside, they ransacked the residence. A Records check revealed the male suspect was on probation and the female suspect had a misdemeanor warrant. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
Through investigation, officers learned the suspects had stored several stolen items in the residence.

Domestic Violence
Location: 2700 Block of El Camino Real
An officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of El Camino Real on the report of a domestic violence incident.
Officers contacted the involved parties and learned they are engaged and live together. Both subjects had visible injuries. The female subject displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. Through investigation, it was determined the female subject was the primary aggressor. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
