Santa Clara Around Town 9/7-9/14

Benton-Las Palmas Public Meeting- Tuesday, September 13th, 5:30-6:30pm: The goal of this meeting is to discuss the safety concerns from the neighborhood: the area is bounded by El Camino Real to the north, Benton Street to the south, Saratoga Creek to the west and San Tomas Expressway to the east. Girl’s Volleyball: Santa Clara High vs. Fremont High- Tuesday, September 13th: JV game starts at 5:30pm, Varsity starts at 6:45pm. Games will take place at Santa Clara High School 3000 Benton Street, Santa Clara.

Boy’s Football: Santa Clara High vs. Fremont High- Friday, September 16th: Games starts at 7pm at Santa Clara High School 3000 Benton Street, Santa Clara.

Emergency Preparedness Training- Most experts agree that the Bay Area is at high risk for disasters. The Santa Clara Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program provides 21 hours of classroom and hands-on training to help you become prepared for such a disaster. Class schedule is as follows: Thursday, September 8th, 6-9pm Disaster Medicine Part 2; Tuesday, September 13th, 6-9pm Search and Rescue; and Saturday, September 17th, 9am-4pm Disaster Simulation, Psychology, Terrorism. All classes will be held at the Santa Clara Fire Department Training Center at 1900 Walsh Avenue, Santa Clara. A fee of $25 per person is required to cover class materials.
