Last week, Officers Pilger, Alford and Mead returned to Buchser Middle School to check-in on bike safety. The officers observed approximately 30 bicyclists; of them three were not wearing helmets. Everyone wearing a helmet was awarded front (white) and rear (red) lights for their bicycle. Of those not wearing a helmet, one student did not own one and was given the opportunity to select a helmet. The others were given a firm warning about the California law
SCPD is hosting a Bicycle Safety Workshop on Thursday, May 10 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Central Park Library (2635 Homestead Rd.) for folks of all ages interested in learning how to safely and confidently use a bicycle for transportation, exercise and family enjoyment. No RSVP is necessary.
