Police Report: July 22 – July 28

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge. 

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Burglary                                            Location:  2300 Block of Mission College Blvd.

Officers were dispatched to a report of an interrupted burglary at the above location. The burglary alarm was triggered and a person responsible for the business drove to the location to inspect it. The reporting party confronted a suspect inside and the suspect ran away. Officers responded to the area and searched for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.

Warrant Arrest                                  Location:  San Tomas Expressway and Pruneridge Ave.

An officer contacted a driver during a vehicle enforcement stop and discovered she had multiple confirmed no-bail property crime warrants for her arrest. She was placed under arrest without incident and booked into county jail.

Resisting Arrest                               Location: 400 Block of Mathew St.

An officer responded to the above location regarding a suspicious subject. The suspicious subject flagged down the officer when he arrived. The subject showed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject became combative while being taken into custody and kicked an officer. The subject was booked at county jail.

Warrant Arrest – Felony                              Location: 2600 Block of Keystone Ave.

At 0241 hours, an officer conducted a vehicle enforcement stop. The driver pulled over, exited the vehicle and ran into a nearby large apartment complex. A perimeter was established and officers searched for the suspect with negative results. At 0507 hours, the suspect returned to the vehicle and he was arrested without incident. The suspect had a confirmed felony warrant for his arrest. He was booked into county jail.

Resisting Arrest                               Location: 2700 block of Homestead Rd.

Loss prevention officers called about a male who had just stolen liquor from their store. Officers found the suspect across the street near Central Park. Officers attempted to detain suspect, who became verbally and physically combative. The suspect was eventually subdued and placed in a restraining device so he could not hurt himself or others. The suspect was booked at county jail.

Fraud                                                  Location: 2700 block of Mission College Blvd.

The victim had his wallet stolen at a hotel and later discovered that his credit cards had been used at several locations throughout Santa Clara. Officers worked with the victim to cancel his credit cards. Officers then conducted follow-up by attempting to acquire video surveillance of the suspect(s) at the scene of the transactions. The investigation is ongoing.

Residential Burglary                                   Location:  2300 block of Augusta Pl.

Officers were dispatched to the above location regarding a residential burglary. The homeowner came home to find the house burglarized.

Warrant Arrest                                  Location:  2300 block of Pruneridge Ave.

Officers contacted the occupant of a vehicle at this location. After contacting the suspect, the officers learned he had a confirmed warrant for his arrest. Officers searched his person and his vehicle and found methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia. The suspect was booked at county jail.

Residential Burglary                                   Location:  800 block of Poplar Ave.

Officers investigated a residential burglary at this location. The victim returned home and found the house ransacked and the victim’s SUV stolen. Officers conducted follow-up for suspect information. The investigation is ongoing.

Drug Arrest                                       Location:  5200 block of Stevens Creek Blvd.

An officer made a pedestrian stop on a suspect at this location. The suspect had two confirmed misdemeanor warrants. In addition, the suspect was in possession of heroin, methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested.
