Police Report

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Warrant Arrest – Felony

Location: Anna Drive at Scott Boulevard
Officers stopped a vehicle with three occupants for expired registration on Anna Drive at Scott Boulevard. A Records check revealed Suspect #1 had two outstanding felony warrants for his arrest and possessed a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

The driver, suspect #2, had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant with $1,000 bail. She was cited and released with a new court date for the warrant per Santa Clara County protocol.

Suspect #3 was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released per Santa Clara County protocol.

Robbery

Location: 2100 Block of Scott Boulevard
An officer was dispatched to the 2100 block of Scott Boulevard on the report of an assault.

At approximately 0110 hours, a victim was seated in a vehicle in front of a business. An unknown male suspect exited the business while holding a box of speakers. The suspect asked the victim if he would like to purchase the speakers. The victim declined the offer and told the suspect he was in need of a caretaker.

The suspect then punched the victim in the face three times with a closed fist and reached into the vehicle and stole the victim’s cell phone from the sun visor. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim went inside the business and called 9-1-1. The suspect remains at large.

Warrant Arrest

Location: Calabazas at Merced Ct
An officer stopped a vehicle where the occupants were seen fighting inside. One occupant had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. The occupant was cited for the warrant and released at the scene. The vehicle was impounded because the driver had a suspended license.

Homicide

Location: Brookdale Dr. at Bing Dr.
An officer heard what he thought was fireworks, so he went to investigate. The officer found a vehicle had crashed into a parked car. The officer discovered that the driver had been shot. Two days later the victim died at the hospital. Detectives worked around the clock and with the assistance of the Modesto Police Department they arrested two adult suspects at a hotel in Modesto on July 7th. The suspects were booked into jail on murder charges.

Burglary

Location: 2000 Duane Ave
Between the hours of 0130 and 0200 hours, an unknown suspect threw a rock through the front window of the Wag Hotel and stole approximately $4,000 work of computers from the front desk. An employee was working in the back of the facility at the time of the crime but did not hear the window break or the burglary occur.

Criminal Threats

Location: 1510 Kiely Bl
Officers responded to a report of a weapon being brandished. The suspect brandished a knife and a replica rifle at people walking by a business. The suspect threatened to kill the victims. The suspect fled the scene but officers found him in a nearby parking lot. The suspect was arrested for criminal threats, brandishing and for possessing a stolen vehicle.

Saturday, July 8, 2017

Officers responded to a report of a possible DUI driver in a parking lot. The suspect had driven his car across the grass at Santa Clara University. The suspect refused to cooperate and had to physically detained. A search of the vehicle revealed a stolen 9mm handgun. The suspect was arrested for obstruction of justice and for possession of a stolen gun.
