On Monday afternoon at 1 p.m., Santa Clara’s Mission College alerted the campus that Campus Police placed the Gilmor Center on a shelter in place. Local police responded to reports of a person with a knife.
After about an hour on lockdown, the shelter in place was lifted. Classes will resume as normal. Follow Mission College on Twitter for updates.
“Santa Clara Police along with the West Valley-Mission District Police responded to campus,” according to a statement from Mission College. “They searched the campus, but were unable to locate the individual.”
The police are searching for a person with a knife who is described as a white male in his 50’s. He has grey curly hair and is 5’8 with a medium build. He was seen wearing circular clear glasses and a flannel black and blue shirt. The knife is described as 3-4” silver blade knife.

Update: At 2:45 p.m., police identified and talked to the suspect and determined there is no threat to campus, according to a Mission College tweet.
