Starting Arts in conjunction with Cabrillo Middle School performed “Meet the Creeps” on January 10-11. The show tells the tale of the Creeps, a family combining the best and worst elements of The Addams Family and The Munsters. Their neighbor, Flora Limetree, hates the eccentric group, and believes the Creeps’ dilapidated mansion is the reason Pilgrim Road never wins the All-American Street Contest. She schemes, and the Creeps initially get left out in the cold, but everything ends up working out in the end.
“We have such a funny, entertaining evening for you,” said Director Adrienne Marquette. “The kids have stepped into these roles like champions. This is my third time directing this show and each time I direct it I find something new that I love about it. It’s no exception with this cast. They’ve brought their characters to new life. This is really a story about acceptance and about finding good people no matter what they look like on the outside – beauty is within.”
The Starting Arts Dream Team will perform In The Heights January 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. and January 19 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. For more information or to buy tickets visit www.startingarts.com.
