Major Roadway Construction Near Mission College

&

Get ready for delays near Mission College as the City of Santa Clara prepares to start work on the intersection of Great America Parkway and Mission College Boulevard. The work, conducted by City contractor O’Grady Paving Inc., will start on June 10, and it will last for more than a year. The company will not only repave the roadway at and leading up to the major intersection but also make it safer for pedestrians.

According to the City, the project may require partial 24-hour lane closures and pedestrian detours at the intersection. The City asks that drivers use caution and drive safely because crews will be moving about. The best course of action is to avoid the intersection if possible and use alternate routes.

Construction work includes:

  • Installing new curbs, sidewalks and ADA ramps at the intersection and along Great America Parkway.
  • Repaving Great America Parkway and Mission College Boulevard.
  • Replacing landscaping at the frontage of properties at the intersection.

If all goes well, construction crews hope to have everything completed by Fall 2025.
