Joshua Bjurman, a sophomore from Santa Clara’s Live Oak Academy, received a Certificate of Recognition from Assembly member Bob Wieckowski at the California State Senate. Bjurman was a finalist in the California Poetry Out Loud State Finals hosted by the California Arts Council on March 23 and 24. Bjurman represented the Santa Clara County and is the Santa Clara County champion. He wishes to explore a career in biochemistry someday.
