I was raised in Santa Clara and have lived in the city most of my life. I currently work with high school youth in San Jose, which is how I first came to learn about Proposition 15. Prop 15 is the solution that we have all been waiting for – making big business pay their fair share of property taxes while protecting tax breaks for homes, farms, and small businesses. And yes, that includes all residential property, such as apartment complexes.
Prop 15 is critical to bring funding into our schools, where students are struggling with systemic inequity, and into our communities that have been impacted by COVID19 and a looming recession. The federal government has neglected us during this pandemic, but this is our chance to bring resources and support to our local communities. Vote yes on Prop 15.
