On March 10, 2020, I received an email from my school’s principal that the school would be closing because of the coronavirus. From that day, I have started my quarantine. During that time, I was afraid of going outside but also looked forward to the outside world.
After more than a year, I got used to stay at home and study online. Most importantly, I learned to cook. Before the quarantine, I only cooked simple food and I wasn’t familiar with the kitchen which was my mother’s territory. But now, I can cook delicious food, such as fried chicken and pasta. I can even feed my sister when my mother is not at home. I become skilled and independent. From my experience, I learned that there is always a silver lining in every cloud.
