I like your July 25th SC Weekly Santa Clara article on the CVRA case. I am very satisfied with the case’s outcome — a six district election method, with the Mayor elected at-large. After more than a year of legal battles, the court settled for what I offered to the Charter Review Committee on May 30, 2017. The selected district map is very similar to my offering; although I did not offer a drawn map, but listings of census trac information in each district (we were instructed not to offer district maps). I did this exercise to convince myself that what I was offering would work. This plan could have been done at a very minimal cost out of the Committee.
