I live in the section of Sunnyvale (east of Wolfe Road) where students attend Santa Clara Unified schools. Over the years I have been very pleased with the education that my children have been receiving in SCUSD, and have never given much thought to the fact that they are not attending schools in the Sunnyvale School District. However, based on some of the letters I have read in this newspaper, I am very concerned that SCUSD is not getting the same public support that schools in Sunnyvale are receiving. Passing Measure A is critical to keeping up with other neighboring cities, including Sunnyvale, that are already supporting their local schools with a parcel tax. The price to do this is minimal, especially when compared to the value that students will receive from it.
