I see that a fellow resident of my city of Mountain View, Gary Wesley, has written you twice this year about the VTA’s plan to take lanes on El Camino Real for its “rapid transit” buses only. I also see that VTA staff has released its “third party review” by paid consultants and friends in the mass transit business. VTA staff may be seeking the support of the Santa Clara City Council for its self-serving bus lane plan as soon as the meeting of October 13. The matter should reach the VTA Board of Directors by December. And note that VTA is asking for even more millions of tax payer dollars this time around for this dumb plan than they got the first time! Santa Clarans should speak up before it is too late.
