Re: the Candidates Forum article 9/26 indicating John Mlnarik’s “no” answer to a valid question (from his Council Seat 7 competitor Teresa O’Neill) about whether Mlnarik’s wife’s employment with a stadium development partner created a conflict of interest was, at the very least, red flag #1. Mlnarik followed this with what the Weekly journalist described as both a tactless misstep and a fumbled challenge to O’Neill (drawing “audible gasps” from the audience) where Mlnarik made a misinformed and possibly discriminatory effort to discredit O’Neill who seems to have an excellent resume for Seat 7, red flag #2.
One should question this relatively unknown (except for his dozens of signs) attorney candidate’s ethics but not that of the Weekly who reported the story accurately even though Mlnarik has been buying space in the Weekly to promote himself and his law firm to get the attention of Santa Clarans one way or the other.
