Perhaps I have some standing with regards to my late mother’s landmark Brown Act case. She always maintained it was about the process of selection of Gary Gillmor, the Happy Warrior, not his qualification. As for Lisa being Mayor, though I was in the hospital with a life threatening illness at the time, a variety of people told me Lisa was the obvious choice. I am saddened that the Weekly for some reason has devolved from a great paper to the Mission City version of Ibsen’s People’s Messenger with Miles and Carolyn choosing to perform the Cliff Notes version of Hovstad and Billings rather than the stalwart writers they can be. The Weekly is best as a nonpartisan observer not a 21st Century version of a James Callendar broadside.
