I believe it is noble to speak about funding programs for youth and seniors. That is why the tickets to 49er games will have a surcharge for youth and senior programs. The banks gave a loan to Stadco, who will then loan it to the Stadium Authority for the purpose of building a stadium to host games which will generate money for youth and senior programs. With all consideration, banks lend money to major capital enterprises, not social programs. I never witnessed anyone putting forth a properly vetted initiative to demand such priorities being reshifted. Finally, the NFL, itself, is one of the major backers of the United Way, which puts forth programs for homeless, youth, and seniors. We can curse the darkness, or we can support the rising of a bold economic sun for the community.
