Voters should recognize County windfall
While most supervisor candidates bemoan the high cost of housing in SC County, they ignore the fact that the increase in housing prices has produced a windfall of revenue for the County resulting from corresponding increases in property tax revenues. Only one candidate, Pierluigi Oliverio, has stated that there needs to be more focus on where all our hard earned money goes. When a 3 bed/1 bath home in Sunnyvale goes from a few hundred thousand to close to $2M, with a corresponding increase in property taxes, voters might stop and ask, “Hey, where’s all that extra money going?” Pierluigi is, and voters should reward him for it.
