Kevin Cornelius, the gifted producer of the Roberta Jones Junior Theater, had another hit on his hands on August 27, 2011 at the talent show/fundraiser, “A Night Off Broadway.” The proceeds will help fund the Roberta Jones College Scholarship, provide grants to cover participation fees for RJJT classes and productions and help purchase equipment for future productions.
Every seat in the Santa Clara Recreation Center was filled with families and friends clapping and cheering each performance. Acts ranged between the very funny tune “Taylor, the Latte Boy,” sung by the talented Andrea Uyeda, to the moving “You Raise Me Up” sung by Johnny Beglin, requested by his grandmother.
Auditions for RJJT’s production of “Stuart Little” are currently underway.
