December 6 – Annual Holiday Tree Lighting
The Lighting Ceremony is at Santa Clara Civic Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Kick off the holiday season with your friends, family, and neighbors. There will be food, refreshments, entertainment, face painting, and a visit from Santa. The tree will be lit at approximately 6:45 p.m.

December 6 – Annual Historic Home Tour
The tradition of the Santa Clara Historic Home Tour continues on Friday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7 from Noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 408-249-7905, or visit http://sc-hometour.com/.

December 6 through 15 – “The Christmas Mouse” – Santa Clara Players
It wouldn’t seem like the holiday season without the annual performance of “The Christmas Mouse” by the Santa Clara Players, a play for the whole family based on the music by Linda Arnold. The production is recommended for ages four and up. Curtain times at the Triton Museum Hall Pavilion are 7 p.m. on Friday Dec. 13; 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 14; and 3 p.m. on Dec. 15. December 7 – Annual Holiday Lights Train
Caltrain’s festively decorated Holiday Train will return to the Santa Clara Depot, carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Salvation Army band, and carolers to lead the community in singing Christmas music. U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will be collecting new toys for its annual Toys for Tots drive. For more information, visit http://holiday-train.org/.

December 7-8 – Family Day & Holiday Gift Fair – Triton Museum of Art

December 14 -15 – “Nutcracker Ballet” – Santa Clara Ballet
The Santa Clara Ballet will present its 40th annual full-length ballet production of “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.& Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. & 5 p.m. at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
