There’s no new information about the Aug. 22 fire that destroyed three tucks of donations at HOPE Services’ Alfred St. donation center. That’s the word from Santa Clara Fire Chief Bill Kelly. Determining the cause of a fire is difficult, says Kelly. “There are many reasons it could have started, and cases stay open for a while.”
You can help the investigation if you were near the scene when the fire broke out, especially if you took pictures before the fire department arrived – contact the Santa Clara Fire Marshall at 408-615-4970. “A passerby’s photo can often be very helpful,” says Kelly.
