(San Jose, CA – March 7, 2012) Join HOPE Services’ third huge sale of new and pre-owned bikes at Yamagami’s Nursery on March 17th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Cupertino. A wide selection of bikes for adults and children, expertly refurbished and lovingly maintained by HOPE Services’ clients, are waiting for their new owners. If you are looking for a safe ride through town or to school, or a fun workout in the fresh air, we have the right bike at a great price for you. Trade in your old bike and you will receive a 25% credit towards your new purchase. Proceeds from the bike sale benefit HOPE Services’ programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.
In 2006, HOPE Services started their own used bike business, which enables about thirty HOPE clients to work while acquiring new skills. “Besides providing paid work to our clients, our business also offers valuable job training opportunities such as performing basic bicycle repairs, learning how to handle money, customer service, and time management. These skills are transferable to other jobs out in the community later on,” states HOPE Services’ Work Activity Program Manager, Lori Williamson. “It makes our clients proud to be able to give back to the community by recycling bicycles and making them safe for others to enjoy.”
Since 1948 Yamagami’s Nursery has provided the latest and best gardening information, plants, garden supplies, and service. Yamagami’s Nursery is actively supporting local schools and community groups. In that tradition, Yamagami’s is proud to partner with HOPE Services’ Bicycle Recycling Program and host this “Back-to-School” Bicycle “Recycling” Sale.
