Tech startup SpareFoot, the world’s largest online directory connecting consumers to self-storage facilities recently announced Santa Clara native Joyce Kim as a recipient of the SpareFoot “Spare Funds” scholarship.
In addition to $5,000 to cover school expenses, Kim will receive free storage space for the duration of the summer.
Joyce is a Junior Psychology major, currently studying abroad in Valparaíso, Chile at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso.
Prior to studying in Chile, she spent a few months in Peru tutoring children in English, reading, and creative writing. She was an apt choice for the Spare Funds scholarship, as a “bright student with ambitious careers goals and a big heart,” stated a press release.
“I would like to go to law school after undergrad and I’m interested in going into public interest law – working for some kind of non-profit organization. As of now I’m interested in human rights law or immigration law,” said Kim.
