Silicon Valley Power Celebrates Public Power Week

Silicon Valley Power is joining over two thousand not for profit public power utilities nationwide in celebrating Public Power Week, which is observed from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12. This event celebrates Silicon Valley Power’s long-standing service to the people in Santa Clara.

“Unlike investor-owned utilities that answer first to their shareholders, Silicon Valley Power is a publicly owned utility, which means we’re accountable above all to you, our customers,” said Silicon Valley Power in a press release. “We’re not-for-profit, so we’re more responsive to customers’ concerns and provide friendly, in-person service. Decisions about our electric utility are made by people who live and work in the community.”

Silicon Valley Power customers receive service that’s more affordable, more reliable, and also environmentally sustainable. On average, public power utilities cost significantly less and are more dependable.
