Residents may place their names on a list to be contacted whenever an opening occurs. Commission — Deadline to apply 5 p.m. — Interview dates & times:
Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee: Apply by Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. Interview date and time – Oct. 8 at 6 p.m.
Historical & Landmarks Commission: Apply by Sept. 18. Interview date and time – Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
Senior Advisory Commission: Apply by Sept. 16. Interview date and time – Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
Interviews for the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee, Historical and Landmarks Commission and Senior Advisory Commission will occur in the City Hall reception lobby.
* The Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee reviews applicant proposals from low to moderate income homeowners for loans/grants for home improvements. The Committee consists of four members: a City Councilmember and three residents.
* The Historical & Landmarks Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to historical places and landmarks. This Commission provides advice on the names and renaming of streets, museums and the establishment thereof in the City, and the marking and preservation of historical landmarks and places.
* The Senior Advisory Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters affecting people age 50 and older in the City, including health, education, employment, housing, transportation and recreation. The Commission consists of seven Commissioners that are volunteers and are appointed by the City Council.
