Girl Scout Troops 60118 and 61445 along with SCPD Police Explorers met at the American Leigon on Homestead on August 10 to fill 720 backpacks for needy children in Santa Clara. “Our goal is to keep kids off the streets and this is a way we can get into the community and work with the school district,” said PAL Director Bill Davis. Each backpack was filled with one notebook, one package of loose leaf paper, 12 watercolor markers, six pencils, one pen, one glue stick and one eraser.
