As breakfast and lunch venue Sara’s Kitchen celebrates its 23rd anniversary, owner Sara Manion expresses gratitude to the community for its continuing support. The restaurant, on Franklin Street, opened in 1992 and its anniversary was celebrated on April 27.
“Santa Clara has been very good to us, and all the neighbors who come here feel like my family,” says Manion.
With a big television mounted on the wall, ceiling fans and blue and white checkered table cloths, the restaurant offers a cozy, home-like atmosphere. Sara’s staffers, such as chef Cesar Rodriguez, enjoy serving patrons.
In early May, Jack Seiver and Megan Moseley, both students at Santa Clara University, enjoyed brunch at the restaurant.
“A lot of kids from my school come here,” Moseley says. “The waffles here are pretty good.”
“I like the egg benedicts here,” Seiver says. “They also have good cheese steaks.”
