In a book talk at Studio Bongiorno on May 9, former council member Kevin Moore and author Gary Singh discussed Singh’s book, “The San Jose Earthquakes: A Seismic Soccer Legacy.” Initially billed as a conversation about what stories didn’t make the book, the event ended up becoming a conversation about the Earthquakes and Singh’s journey through its history, as he wrote it while straddling the line between journalist and fan.
After reading a chapter on Krazy George, the audience shared memories of the team when it was in its infancy and Moore talked about how Avaya Stadium on Coleman Avenue was almost built in Santa Clara. While no real secrets were disclosed, the intimate gathering proved to be informative.
Signed copies of Singh’s book are available at Studio Bongiorno, 500 Lincoln St. in Santa Clara, as well as at Avaya Stadium and on Amazon.com, www.amazon.com/San-Jose-Earthquakes-Sports /dp/1626199000/ ref=sr_1_1?s=books &ie=UTF8&qid=1431238119&sr=1-1&keywords=san+jose+earthquakes .
