Santa Clara This Week 1/27- 2/2/2016

Jamie L. Matthews, Mayor of Santa Clara, extended an official welcome to the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers, who will be competing in Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on February 7, 2016.

STEM Innovation Bowl- Saturday, January 30, 10 am-5 pm: As part of Santa Clara’s Countdown to Kick-off, the STEM Innovation Bowl will celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. See the future of immersive technology–virtual reality, augmented reality, telepresence robots, computer vision, 3D video, gaming and Santa Clara’s interactive map tool, MapSantaClara. Reccomended for grades 6 and up. There will be Innovation Stations, where kids can learn about circuit boards, build with blocks and straws, create mosaics using math, interact with robots and launch rockets. FREE. Super Community Concert and Fireworks- Sunday, January 31: Join the City of Santa Clara and Heart for a concert and fireworks show at Mission College. Pre-concert festivities begin at 1pm and the concert begins at 3pm. There will be fireworks after the show, a food alley and a beer and wine garden.
