Jessica Reiner, 22, of Santa Clara, is among 30 recipients of the 2012-2013 ICMA-RC Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship (ICMA-RC Memorial Scholarship) recently awarded by the Scholarship Fund Board of Directors.
The scholarships are presented annually to surviving children and spouses of firefighters, police officers and other public employees who have died in the line of duty. Eric C. Reiner died in the line of duty while serving with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Applicants must be studying full-time at an accredited two or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school. Applicants are selected based on a number of factors including financial need, academic record, demonstrated leadership in school and community activities, honors, and work experience.
ICMA-RC and its Board of Directors established the Fund in 2001. Since its inception, recipients have received more than $860,000 in scholarship awards.
The ICMA-RC Vantagepoint Public Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund is a Section 501(c)(3) public charity founded by ICMA-RC in 2001.
