The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.
Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Drug Sales
Location: 700 Block of Lawrence Expressway
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Lawrence Expressway with a registration tab peeling off and torn. A registration check on the vehicle showed it was expired as of 8/12/18. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.
The vehicle was occupied by a male driver and female passenger. The passenger was determined to be the vehicle owner. A Records check revealed the driver had a misdemeanor warrant. During the contact, the female subject admitted to having medication in the vehicle that she did not have a prescription for. A search of the vehicle yielded a controlled substance, prescription medications, drug paraphernalia and supplies consistent with that for drug sales. Both subjects were cited and released from the scene.

Location: 2700 Block of Mauricia Avenue
Between 2330 hours on 9/13/20 and 1000 hours on 9/14/20, an unknown subject(s) subject pried open the storage shed on the 2700 block of Mauricia Avenue and stole approximately $2,800 worth of property. The subject(s) remain at large.

Location: 3000 Block of Miles Drive
At approximately 1800 hours, a resident on the 3000 block of Miles Drive was alerted by video surveillance of motion on the porch. The resident witnessed a male subject take a package off the porch. The items in the package were valued at $100. The subject is unknown and at large.

Commercial Burglary
Location: 3600 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
Between 1900 hours on 9/15/2020 and 1000 hours on 9/16/2020, an unknown subject(s) used an unknown tool(s) to shatter the front pocket window and force open the front door to a business on the 3600 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard. The subject(s) stole upwards of $5,818 in products. It is estimated the damage to replace the window is another $400. The subject(s) is unknown and at large.

Public Nuisance
Location: 900 Block of Bellomy Street
Public Safety Dispatchers received a call regarding a loud party on the 900 block of Bellomy Street.
On arrival, the officer observed approximately four individuals outside the residence and an estimated 20 individuals inside. Amplified music was being played and alcohol was on the premises. Minors were not in possession of alcohol and the party hosts were cooperative on police contact. The party goers admitted to being Santa Clara University students.
The party was shut down while officers were present. The tenants were issued a first response.

Commercial Burglary
Location: 2000 Block of Scott Boulevard
Public Safety Dispatchers received a call for service for what was initially reported as a possible armed robbery in progress.
Arriving officers learned two subjects forced open an automated teller machine, while a third subject remained in a nearby vehicle. All three subjects had fled the scene prior to police arrival. Approximately $17,000 was stolen and the crime was determined to be a burglary.

Residential Burglary
Location: 3300 Block of Octavius Drive
Between 8-20-2020 and 9-19-2020, an unknown subject(s) stole a bicycle from the 3300 block of Octavius Drive.
To access the bicycle, the suspect had to enter exterior doors into the apartment building. The subject then had to open a locked door to get into a bicycle storage room before defeating the U-lock which attached the bicycle to a bicycle rack. The total loss of the bicycle and accessories is estimated at $3,000.
