Santa Clara Police Report: November 24 – 30

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Police Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. Vandalism Series

Between 2000 hours and 2100 hours a series of four window shattering, vandalism incidents were reported at various locations throughout the city.

In each case, the window was shattered after being hit by a projectile; the projectile appears to have been from a slingshot. No persons were injured. The Investigations Division was notified.

Fraud

Location:  601 El Camino Real

Since August, an elderly victim was tricked into transferring over $500,000 to a bank oversees. It was determined to be a scam. The Investigations Division is investigating the situation.

Petty Theft

An officer responded to a business on the 2000 block of El Camino Real regarding the report of a theft.

A Security Specialist stated three bicycles had been stolen on separate dates (11/26/2019, 11/16/2019 and 4/15/2019) for a total loss of $558.98. The suspect remains at large.

Theft from a Vehicle

Location: 3900 Block of Rivermark Plaza

An unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the victim’s vehicle on the 3900 block of Rivermark Plaza. The suspect(s) stole a backpack containing a laptop computer and iPad and fled the scene. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Driving Under the Influence

Location: Pepper Tree Lane and Santa Lucia Drive

An officer observed a vehicle exit a parking lot on Benton Street and travel at a high rate of speed, swerving in and out of double yellow lines. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.

Upon contact, the male driver exhibited signs of alcohol intoxication. The subject performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and a Preliminary Alcohol Screening measuring a blood alcohol content of 0.151% and 0.159%. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest – Felony

Location: El Camino Real and Los Padres Boulevard

An officer observed a vehicle with a license plate that appeared to be tampered within the area of El Camino Real and Los Padres Boulevard. A Records check confirmed the license plate was not valid. In addition, the registration was expired. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.

The officer conducted a Records check on the male driver. It revealed the subject had a felony warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest – Felony

Location:  4500 Block of Patrick Henry Drive

An officer patrolling the rear of a closed business contacted a male subject. A Records check revealed the subject had four warrants; one felony, three misdemeanors. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
