The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.
Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all the charge(s) associated with the arrest.
This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Petty Theft
Location: 3200 Block of San Juan Avenue
An officer was dispatched to the 3200 block of San Juan Avenue on the report of a package theft.
On arrival, the victim provided the officer with video surveillance of a male subject taking the package from the residence at approximately 1029 hours. The contents were valued at approximately $50.
The officer later located the subject nearby. He was issued a citation and released from the scene.
The victim later located the package in the backyard of the residence. The subject had thrown away the package after realizing it contained a children’s toy.

Fraud
Location: 601 El Camino Real
An officer was dispatched to meet with the victim to investigate a fraud.
The female subject and victim met on a dating website. The subject asked the victim to lend her money to cover a medical bill that was later found to be illegitimate. The victim loaned the subject $403,441. The funds have not been paid back and the subject has since deleted her account on the online dating website. The subject has not been identified and is at large.

Stolen Vehicle
Location: 3100 Block of Butte Street
An officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Butte Street on the report of a stolen vehicle.
On arrival, the officer met with the victim. The locked vehicle was parked on the street in front of the victim’s residence on 11/16/20 at approximately 1700 hours. On 1/17/20 at approximately 0810 hours the vehicle was determined to be missing. The subject has not been identified and is at large.

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call for service to the 3200 block of El Camino Real on the report of a prior theft.
Two victims had their bicycles stolen from a locked designated bicycle storage room. Victim #1’s bicycle is valued at $3,000 and victim #2’s bicycle is estimated at $600. The subject(s) have not been identified and remain at large.

Drug Sales
Location: 300 Block of Saratoga Avenue
An officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on the 300 block of Saratoga Avenue after observing a vehicle without a license plate.
The officer contacted the male subject. In plain view were multiple bags of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and supplies consistent with drug sales. The subject was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Grand Theft
Location: 2500 Block of Arroyo Drive
An officer was dispatched to the 2500 block of Arroyo Drive on the report of a prior theft.
On arrival, the officer met with the victim who had parked their vehicle in a parking lot on 11/17/20 at approximately 2130 hours. The victim returned to the vehicle on 11/19/20 at about 0955 hours and started the vehicle. The vehicle made a loud noise, consulted a mechanic and learned the catalytic converter had been removed from the undercarriage of the vehicle. The cost of repairs is estimated at $3,500. The unknown subject(s) is at large.

Theft from Vehicle
Location: 3600 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
A customer of a business on the 3600 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard informed employees of an in-progress theft from a vehicle. The vehicle belonged to an employee of the business.
It was determined the unknown male subject stole a backpack from inside the vehicle. The subject fled the scene prior to police arrival. The license plate of the fleeing vehicle did not match that of the vehicle make and model. It was later determined to be an unreported stolen license plate.
The backpack and contents are valued at approximately $150. The cost to replace the window is estimated at $300.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: 2500 Block of Warburton Avenue
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on El Camino Real in violation of several vehicle codes, including lack of lighting equipment and expired registration. When the vehicle reached Calabazas Boulevard and Via Dondera, it stopped in the middle of the roadway for no apparent reason. The vehicle then proceeded to park illegally on the 2500 block of Warburton Avenue, a male subject exited the vehicle and started walking eastbound.
The officer contacted the subject, who displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. After speaking briefly, the subject took off running and fell to the ground. As a result of this incident, the officer could not safely perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Instead, a Romberg Test was completed at SCPD’s Temporary Holding Facility.
He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
