Santa Clara Police Report: January 27 – February 2

The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the City and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge. 

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. Weapons arrest

Location:  N Bascom Avenue and Cherrystone Drive

An officer observed a vehicle pull out from Chapman Court onto The Alameda and block traffic. A registration check of the vehicle revealed it was expired. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop and the vehicle came to a stop on N Bascom Avenue and Cherrystone Drive.

Upon contact, the officer immediately smelled a strong odor of cannabis emitting from the vehicle. The male driver concurred. A Records check revealed he was a convicted felon. A search of the vehicle yielded a loaded handgun in a backpack, cash, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia consistent with that of someone selling narcotics. The suspect was arrested.

Theft from a Vehicle

Location: 3700 Block of El Camino Real

Between 2000 and 2017 hours, Public Safety Dispatchers received a call from a reporting party regarding multiple thefts from vehicles on the 3700 block of El Camino Real.

Upon arrival, it was determined unknown suspects in a silver Ford Explorer broke into three vehicles in the business parking lot and two additional vehicles in the adjacent apartments. The suspects stole miscellaneous electronics and identifying information from the victims.

As a result, officers flooded various business parking lots off the Lawrence Expressway corridor in hopes of locating the suspect vehicle. An officer spotted a vehicle matching the reporting party’s description on the 3100 block of Mission College Boulevard. Once the driver spotted the officer, he drove over a median and sped away. The suspects remain at large.

Assault

Location: 2200 Block of Los Padres Boulevard

Officers responded to the 2200 block of Los Padres Boulevard on the report of a physical fight between two neighbors.

Upon contact, the officer observed a male subject displaying objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A Records check revealed he was on searchable probation. A search of his person yielded a controlled substance. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

The other involved party had minor injuries and requested prosecution for the assault.

Residential Burglary

Location: 3600 Block of Europe Court

Public Safety Dispatchers deployed an officer to a residential burglary on the 3600 block of Europe Court.

Through investigation, it was determined between 1200-2000 hours, an unknown suspect(s) broke the rear sliding glass door, entered the residence, stole a vehicle, watch, laptop and MP3 player. The vehicle and suspect(s) remain outstanding.

Residential Burglary

Location:  2400 Block of Nobili Avenue

Public Safety Dispatchers deployed an officer to a residential burglary on the 2400 block of Nobili Avenue.

Between 0800-1850 hours, an unknown suspect(s) broke the rear sliding glass door, entered the residence, stole jewelry, a key to a car and an iPhone. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Residential Burglary

Location: 1900 Block of Worthington Circle

At approximately 1830 hours, the victim returned to a residence on the 1900 block of Worthington Circle to find the home ransacked.

At approximately 1239 hours, an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through an unlocked back window. The suspect(s) stole numerous electronics, jewelry, savings bonds, purse, cash and other valuables.

The suspect(s) remain at large.

Medical Call

Location: 500 Block of El Camino Real

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call for service regarding an individual that had become ill due to excessive consumption of alcohol on the 500 block of El Camino Real.

Upon arrival, police and fire personnel located the unresponsive female subject. Due to her level of intoxication, she was transported to a local hospital.
