Santa Clara Police Report: January 26 – February 1

Residential Burglary

Location: 2400 Block of Michele Jean Way

Between 1545 hours and 1900 hours, a residential burglary occurred on the 2400 block of Michele Jean Way.

An unknown subject(s) used bodily force to kick open the front door of the residence. Once inside, the subject(s) stole two jars of quarters totaling approximately $200. The subject(s) remain at large.

Grand Theft

Location: 2700 Block of Augustine Drive

At approximately 1445 hours, a female subject entered a business on the 2700 block of Augustine Drive and looked at products. The subject exited the store at approximately 1500 hours without purchasing anything. Later, it was determined approximately $4,968 in miscellaneous items were stolen.

Through investigation, it was determined the subject had placed multiple items in her jacket and bag. The subject remains at large.

Petty Theft

Location: 2000 Block of El Camino Real

A female subject concealed approximately $442 of merchandise in a bag and walked past all the points of sale at a business on the 2000 block of El Camino Real. A Loss Prevention Specialist detained the suspect outside the business and contacted Public Safety Dispatchers.

Upon police arrival, the subject provided officers with a false name and date of birth. The subject was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Suspended License

Location: Montague Expressway at San Tomas Expressway

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Montague Expressway at a high rate of speed with a modified exhaust. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.

Upon contact, the male subject immediately told the officer he did not have a driver’s license and was working to obtain one. A Records check revealed he had a suspended driver’s license. Records also advised the subject was required to have an ignition interlock device on his vehicle. He was arrested.

Driving Under the Influence

Location: Lawrence Expressway and Stevens Creek Boulevard

An officer responded to the intersection of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Lawrence Expressway after learning about a two-vehicle collision.

A male subject rear-ended the victim’s vehicle. Upon contact, the officer observed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The subject proceeded through the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and a Preliminary Alcohol Screening, which resulted in blood alcohol content levels of 0.143% and .0136%. The subject was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Warrant Arrest

Location: 1600 Block of Pomeroy Avenue

Public Safety Dispatchers received a call for service regarding a subject trespassing on the 1600 block of Pomeroy Avenue.

The officer located a male subject matching the reporting party’s description. A Records check revealed the subject had a no-bail misdemeanor warrant. The subject was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

City Ordinance

Location: 900 Block of Monroe Street

An officer observed a subject smoking a cigarette in the public parking lot on the 900 block of Monroe Street. The subject was issued a citation for the violation of the City Code.
