Santa Clara Police Report: November 10 – 16

Driving Under the Influence

Location: San Tomas Expressway and Highway 101
A reporting party contacted Public Safety Dispatchers regarding a potential drunk driver in the area of San Tomas Expressway and Highway 101. The reporting party witnessed the vehicle strike a guardrail and continue driving.

An officer located a vehicle matching the reporting party’s description parked with the vehicle running on Benton Street near Blackfield Drive. The officer contacted the male driver. During the contact, the officer observed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The subject proceeded through the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and performed a Preliminary Alcohol Screening. The results of the blood alcohol test were 0.192% and 0.203%. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Felony Vandalism

Location: 4900 Block of Marie P. DeBartolo Way
At the conclusion of the Monday Night Football game at Levi’s Stadium, a security guard witnessed a male subject vandalize a statue of Joe Montana. The subject was subsequently arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

The damage is estimated at $16,000.

Embezzlement

Location: 2400 Block of Lafayette Street

An officer responded to a business on the 2400 block of Lafayette Street on the report of embezzlement.

A female subject took advantage of her position at the business and stole money from the company in the form of return fraud. She was arrested.

Vandalism

Location: 1045 Los Padres Boulevard
An employee with the City of Santa Clara witnessed a male subject vandalize property in Steve Carli Park, located at 1045 Los Padres Boulevard, and contacted Public Safety Dispatchers.

The responding officer contacted the subject. He was arrested.

Petty Theft

Location: 3900 Block of Freedom Circle
Public Safety Dispatchers were contacted regarding a petty theft within a business.

Upon arrival, an officer learned a victim noticed a key and $100 in cash missing from an unlocked desk drawer. At the time of this report the suspect(s) remains at large.

Residential Burglary

Location: 3400 Block of Granada Avenue
An officer responded to the 3400 block of Granada Avenue on the report of a residential burglary that had occurred earlier in the day.

The suspect(s) gained access into the residence by prying the victim’s window open causing structural damage. Upon investigation, it was discovered identification cards, ATM cards, jewelry and currency were stolen, valued at approximately $4,180.00. There was no suspect information.

Commercial Burglary

Location: 5000 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
Between 0530 and 0601 a business on the 5000 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard was burglarized.

The unknown suspect(s) pried open the front door and gained access to the closed business. The suspect(s) took several items from the business valued at $1,930. The suspect(s) remain at large. Time: 0601
