Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center is once again recognized as one of the best hospitals in the world, according to Newsweek magazine’s “World’s Best Hospitals 2024” list.
This is the sixth-consecutive year the Santa Clara Kaiser ranked on Newsweek magazine’s list, which ranked more than 2,400 hospitals in 30 countries. Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara placed at 140 out of the more than 400 hospitals in the United States that made the global list, and among the top 20 hospitals in California.
“We are committed to providing our patients, members, and the communities we serve with high-quality, compassionate care,” said Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Senior Vice President and Area Manager Eric Williams, FACHE. “It’s gratifying to be listed among the best hospitals in the world for the sixth time. This is a testament to our physicians, nurses, and staff who put our patients’ well-being at the core of everything they do.”
Hospitals were ranked based on expert feedback from tens of thousands of medical professionals from around the globe. The ranking includes results from patient surveys and patient satisfaction scores, as well as key medical performance indicators such as risk-adjusted mortality, readmission rates, and timeliness of care.
The Santa Clara Kaiser Permanente was also listed among the “Best Hospitals for Infection Prevention.” U.S. hospitals received this recognition if they performed above the national average on six different measures. Those measures include low rates for catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line associated bloodstream infections, C. diff, MRSA bacteria, and surgical site infections.
“Patients expect and deserve a high-level of excellence from their care teams, and our physicians, nurses, and staff are focused on delivering the personalized care and support they need,” said Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Physician in Chief Rakesh Chaudhary, MD. “We focus every day on making sure we are meeting our patients’ needs so they can lead healthy, active lives.”

I am no longer a Kaiser member but I had good experiences at the new Kaiser and of course many at the old one. I am glad to know that Kaiser is still running such an excellent hospital here.
