Santa Clara Communications Center Receives Technology Leadership Award

The City of Santa Clara received the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Technology Leadership Award.

The award recognizes Communications Centers that use technological advancements to provide demonstrated benefits to their center, employees and customers. Nominated projects could include the Communications Dispatch Center, Radio, Electronic Crime Reporting, mapping and GPS. The City of Santa Clara’s new Hexagon Communications Dispatch Center Project met many of the award categories.

Judi Dziuba, the City’s Communications Center Operations Manager, accepted the award on Aug. 11 at the APCO International’s Annual Conference & Expo in Baltimore, MD. Dziuba spent the rest of the four-day conference attending educational sessions, committee meetings and meeting with exhibitors to continue to bring enhancements to the City of Santa Clara, according to the City in a press release.
