Recently, Santa Clara Public Safety Dispatcher, Lee Jett, got to meet with the heart attack survivor he assisted – a truly happy ending and new beginning.

Mrs. Dan Burke called 9-1-1 on Thursday, November 19, at 2:15pm and said her husband was passed out in the bathroom. Upon further questioning, it was determined that he was having breathing trouble. With the assistance of her adult son who was visiting, CPR instructions were given to them by Dispatcher Jett. They were performing CPR when the Santa Clara Fire Department arrived. Within a minute of their arrival, the Fire Department was able to start Dan’s heart using an automated external defibrillator (AED) He was then taken to a local hospital.
