The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.
Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Drug Possession
Location: 2000 Block of El Camino Real
Public Safety Dispatchers deployed an officer to the 2000 block of El Camino Real regarding an audible alarm. Upon arrival, an officer observed a male subject walking through the parking lot.
The subject displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and gave officers consent to search him. A search of his person yielded a controlled substance. The subject was arrested.

Drug Possession
Location: 500 Block of Mansion Park Drive
Public Safety Dispatchers received a call regarding four male suspicious individuals hiding in the bushes on the 500 block of Mansion Park Drive.
Upon arrival, officers approached the subjects by activating their red lights and siren. Three of the subjects immediately ran from the officers through an apartment complex to avoid the lawful detention. One male subject complied with officer commands and was detained without further incident.
A search of his person yielded two bottles of various pills not prescribed to the detainee. A Records check revealed the subject is a juvenile. He was issued a Juvenile Crime Report and released into the custody of his mother.
The balance of the unidentified suspects are at large.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: 2600 Block of Marchese Way
An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Fordham Drive near Monroe Street. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop. The suspect vehicle failed to stop at a posted stop sign and made its way to the 2600 block of Marchese Way before coming to a stop at a residence.
The male driver ran from the vehicle to the front door of the residence. The officer ordered him to stop and he complied. The subject displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication and refused to attempt the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
A search of the vehicle yielded several open containers of alcoholic beverages. A Records check revealed the subject had a suspended driver’s license. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Arson
Location: Sherman Street and Franklin Street
Santa Clara University security observed a male suspect setting several small fires around the campus. Security officers detained the individual and contacted SCPD.
Upon contact, the suspect gave the officer several versions of his name and date of birth before admitting to his real identity. A Records check revealed the suspect was a juvenile.
The suspect was arrested and booked into Juvenile hall.

Assault
Location: 3700 Block of El Camino Real
The victim was parked at a gas station on the 3700 block of El Camino Real when an unknown suspect approached the victim. The victim attempted to leave the area but was stopped by the suspect. The suspect stabbed the victim in the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening wound.
The suspect remains at large. The Investigations Bureau has been notified of the incident.

Traffic Accident
Location: San Tomas Expressway and El Camino Real
A bicyclist rode eastbound in the crosswalk of El Camino Real across the San Tomas Expressway intersection against a solid red pedestrian traffic signal. A vehicle traveling northbound on San Tomas Expressway with a solid green light struck the bicyclist in the crosswalk. The bicyclist suffered a fractured leg and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Burglary
Location: 2600 Block of Warburton Ave.
Between 6-7-18 at approximately 2200 hours and 6-8-18 at approximately 0700 hours, an unknown suspect gained entry into the garage while the residents were home. The suspect took property from inside of the garage and left the scene.

Driving Under the Influence
Location: 1000 Block of Railroad Ave.
Officers responded to the area of Benton St. and Railroad Ave. in regards to a report of a single vehicle collision. The driver exhibited symptoms of being intoxicated. He was arrested, but he refused to provide a chemical sample. After a search warrant was obtained, the suspect submitted to a blood sample. He was then booked into county jail.

Burglary
Location: 2300 Block of Calle Del Mundo
Officers responded to a silent alarm at a commercial business. Upon arrivial, they saw the a male fleeing the scene in his vehicle. They stopped him and later confirmed he had just pried the door to the business and burglarized it. They found and recovered the stolen property in the suspect’s vehicle.
The suspect was booked into county jail for burglary, burglary tools, possession of stolen property, and vandalism.
