The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.
Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Driving Under the Influence Location: El Camino Real at San Tomas Expressway
Officers were dispatched to a major injury collision involving a motorcycle and car at El Camino Real and San Tomas Expressway.
The responding officer learned the male motorcyclist fled on foot following the accident. The suspect was located lurking behind a nearby business. Upon contact, the suspect exhibited symptoms of alcohol intoxication and did not satisfactorily perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. He was arrested.
While at SCPD’s temporary holding facility, the suspect began having medical issues. He was transported to a local hospital. A search warrant was obtained for a blood sample.

NOTE: At 1323 hours, multiple officers responded to a report of a man with a gun at Parkway Park. Upon arrival, officers safely cleared the park. The incident was determined to be unfounded.

Grand Theft Location: 2700 Block of Augustine Drive
Officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Augustine Drive on the report of an attempted grand theft and misdemeanor vandalism.
An unknown male suspect entered the business and proceeded to flee with $1,013.51 worth of alcohol. As the suspect exited the business, he was confronted by store security officers. The suspect dropped all of the bottles of alcohol and fled the scene. The suspect remains at large.

Identification Theft Location: Lewis Street and Lincoln Street
An officer observed a vehicle with expired registration and illegal tinting while on patrol in the area of El Camino Real and Lincoln Street. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop and the vehicle stopped on Lincoln Street near Lewis Street.
Upon contact, the officer observed objective symptoms that the female driver was under the influence of a controlled substance. A Records check revealed the suspect had a suspended driver’s license. The suspect consented to a vehicle search, which yielded drug paraphernalia, a controlled substance, burglary tools and numerous items bearing personal identifying information of other subjects (e.g. mail, an access card, handwritten notes, etc.). The persons were identified, contacted and confirmed approximately $3,000.00 in fraudulent charges were made using personal identifying information. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Prowler Location: 2100 Block of Denise Drive
An officer was dispatched to the 2100 block of Denise Drive on the report of a male suspect hiding on the side of a residence.
As officers arrived and attempted to locate the suspect, he fled the residence toward a neighboring shopping center. A perimeter was established and a subject matching the suspect description was located. An in-field show-up confirmed he was the prowler. The victim was able to confirm there were no apparent items missing from the residence. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Medical Call Location: 2100 Block of Main Street
Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Main Street on the report of an extensive fireworks display taking place.
While officers were enroute to address the illegal fireworks, Public Safety Dispatchers received a call regarding a male who had been struck in the eye at the above address with some shrapnel from the fireworks. The male was struck below his eye, causing moderate injuries requiring a trip to the hospital. The male denied being involved or even watching the display, claiming he was merely walking down the street when he was struck. None of the dozens of people on the street would provide any information either. An info report was generated for good measure, and a sweep of the area was conducted for any fireworks left behind.

Suspended License Location: Stevens Creek Boulevard near San Tomas Expressway
An officer observed a vehicle traveling on Stevens Creek Boulevard near San Tomas Expressway displaying expired registration. A DMV records check confirmed such and the officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.
The officer made contact with the female driver who provided a false name. After learning her identity, a Records check revealed a suspended driver’s license and that the driver could only operate a vehicle equipped with a court ordered ignition interlock device. The vehicle was not equipped with the ignition interlock device. She was arrested.

Theft from a Vehicle Location: 1900 Block of El Camino Real
A reporting party contacted Public Safety Dispatchers after witnessing a theft from a vehicle on the 1900 block of El Camino Real.
An unknown male suspect smashed the driver window of a parked vehicle and took $10,000 in cash from the center armrest console. The suspect then ran to an awaiting, occupied getaway vehicle and fled the scene. The suspects remain at large.
