NOTE: SCPD participated in the Cops Care Cancer Foundation’s 15th annual Fantasy Flight for Bay Area children stricken with cancer. Approximately 50 VIP’s (cancer patients), participated in a presidential style motorcade from Juniper Networks in Sunnyvale to the San Jose Police Department Air Hangar at the San Jose International Airport in San Jose. The families of the VIP’s rode in police and fire vehicles in this motorcade. When the kids arrived at the air hangar, it had magically been transformed into the North Pole with a huge carnival inside. The Sunnyvale Moose Lodge provided an amazing BBQ lunch for all of the guests and volunteers. There was also popcorn, cotton candy and baked goods for everyone. This amazing day was topped off with Santa arriving by police helicopter. After their Santa visit, Command Staff from each agency provided the VIP’s and their siblings with a gift from their wish list.
