Vehicle Theft                                    Location:  500 Block of Lawrence Expressway

An officer observed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on the 500 block of Lawrence Expressway without registration tabs. Upon closer look, the officer observed two subjects sleeping inside the vehicle. A check of the vehicle identification number did not match with the associated license plate. As the officer was waiting for fill unit(s) before initiating a felony car stop/contact, the subjects woke and fled the parking lot.

Officers briefly pursued the vehicle on Highway 101. An officer followed the vehicle as it exited the freeway onto San Tomas Expressway. The vehicle spun out, stopped on the side of the road and both subjects fled on foot. Both subjects were located and taken into custody without further incident.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle was cold plated with an unreported stolen license plate and the vehicle was stolen.

Subject #1 was not truthful about his identity. A Records check revealed he was on active formal probation. A search yielded prescription drugs without a prescription and personal identifying information that didn’t belong to him. Subject #2 jumped a fence and resisted arrest when officers caught up with him. A Records check revealed he was on active searchable probation. The Santa Clara Fire Department arrived on scene to medically evaluate subject #2. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Robbery                                                        Location:  2500 Block of Notre Dame Drive

Public Safety Dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Notre Dame Drive. A residence on the 2500 block of Notre Dame Drive was recently the location of a Police Special Response Team operation and the associated subjects were known to have firearms.

Upon police arrival, there was nobody outside and there were no signs of a shooting. Containment was set and multiple residents were hailed out via a public address system.
