Aggravated Assault
Location: 1000 Block of Monroe Street
A local bar on the 1000 block of Monroe Street was well-attended with patrons watching football. A fight broke out and bottles were thrown. A reporting party informed Public Safety Dispatchers that one of the males involved in the fight was said to be armed with a handgun. Three males and two females fled the bar on foot prior to police arrival.
Upon arrival, an officer contacted one victim who had been robbed of a cell phone and glasses by the two female suspects. A perimeter was established which caused local traffic interruptions as streets were blocked off. The San Jose Police Department’s helicopter was already nearby, so SJPD officers provided air support with the search.
The search team located two male suspects hiding to the rear of the Santa Clara County Courthouse and one male suspect hiding behind a house on Lafayette Street and Homestead Road. One of the female suspects was detained as she attempted to walk out of the perimeter. One male and one female subject were arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
