Stolen Vehicle

Location:  El Camino Real and Kiely Boulevard

An officer was traveling on El Camino Real and conducted a records check on a nearby vehicle. The mobile computer yielded a “hot hit” for a stolen vehicle out of San Jose. Additional units were dispatched to the area before the officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop.

Once the officer activated the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights, the male suspect turned right into a business at the corner of El Camino Real and Bowers Avenue. The suspect stopped momentarily. The suspect lost control of his vehicle after striking the patrol vehicle and ran into the side of the business before fleeing on foot.

The officer had a K-9 on board and released the door to its partner. The K-9 captured the suspect and he was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for some small lacerations before being transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
