Norma Haxton Celebrates 20-Years as a Crossing Guard with SCPD

Santa Clara Police Chief Michael J. Sellers and Community Service Officer Taylor Carpenter honored Norma Haxton with a 20-year service pin for her contributions as a Crossing Guard for the City of Santa Clara. This presentation took place in front of Haxton’s colleagues during a Back to School training and breakfast at the Police Building.

Chief Sellers thanked all the Crossing Guards for the important job they perform and their dedication to the safety and well-being of the students.

Eisenhower Elementary School started this week and Santa Clara Unified School District will be back in session on Aug. 16. Take an opportunity to introduce yourself to the Crossing Guard at your neighborhood school and ask how you can support their efforts to ensure a safe school zone for pedestrians and bicyclists.
