A new year means new changes in and around Santa Clara. Here’s a list of what’s new and gone for good.

Prime 109 Steak and Libation House
4150 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara
Prime 109 recently closed its Santa Clara and Fremont locations according to the restaurant’s Facebook page and website. A new Mexican food concept, Mas Fuego, will take its place.

For Other Living Things
1261 S. Mary Ave., Sunnyvale
Pet supply store, For Other Living Things, will close Jan. 31. The store had been in business for 19 years. Reduced hours began Jan. 13 and customers are encouraged to call (408) 739-6785 before visiting.

Recently Opened
Elite Event Center
2670 El Camino Real, Santa Clara
Meeting and event venue, Elite Event Center, opened at the end of last year. Each room contained built-in audio/visual equipment, “executive style” seating, adjustable lighting and vaulted ceilings. The center can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Dog-friendly tea house, Woof’s Bar opened along The Alameda at the end of last year. The menu includes number of milk teas and specialty drinks served in a lounge setting.

Central Computers
510 Lawrence Expressway, Sunnyvale
After losing the last Sunnyvale location to a fire, Central Computers, a computer and computer repair store, opened a new location near St. John’s Bar and Grill in Sunnyvale in December.

Santana Row, San Jose
Blue Bottle Coffee opened at Santana Row at the end of November. The indoor/outdoor café offers drip coffee and espresso as well as a selection of bites including pastries, Liège waffles and toasts.

Westfield Valley Fair
Vegan shoe, bag and accessory line Mat & Nat opened at Westfield Valley Fair in early December. Mattress company Purple, tart frozen yogurt brand Pinkberry and ice cream shop Coldstone Creamery also opened recently.

Santa Clara Square

Group personal training and high intensity workout fitness center Orangetheory is set to open at Westfield Valley Fair. The Orangetheory will join a planned location near Franklin Mall and locations at the Monticello off Monroe Street and Lawrence Expressway and Mission Park Marketplace off Wyatt Drive.
